28th January – Kris Commons signs for Glasgow Celtic for a fee of around £300,000, on wages of about £1m per year

30th January – @sbywater1 You pay peanuts…. You get monkeys. You pay coconuts…. You get gorillas. FACT!

30th January – @sbywater1 Stayed in big hotel this weekend. The people running it know what there doing. That’s what made the difference!

1st February Derby County 1 Ipswich Town 2 – first Ipswich goal by Jimmy Bullard, a long-range shot which should have been comfortably saved.

5th February Portsmouth 1 Derby County 1 – Clough in now notorious “Cywkagate” incident, wherein the young Pole is extremely harshly pilloried for losing the ball in the build-up to Nugent’s 89th minute equaliser

7th February @sbywater1 How can you lose a dressing gown? Seems quite an achievement to me. Yep, mine is gone…I’ll blame someone else.

22nd FebruaryDerby County 0 Hull City 1 – Bywater substituted with a muscle injury, leaving youth team goalkeeper James Severn to miss a corner and condemn Derby to another damaging defeat

25th February – Frank Fielding signs as cover for the injured Bywater. Clough – “The deal lasts until the end of the season, so when Stephen is back fit it gives us some really strong competition for the number one jersey, which will be good for both of them and ultimately the team.” Derby Telegraph – “Regular number one Stephen Bywater is expected to be out for a few weeks with a strained muscle in his side”

4th March – Bywater loaned to Cardiff until end of season. Clough – “Stephen has recovered from his injury and Cardiff made an inquiry about taking him on loan until the end of the season and he seemed keen to go. Frank Fielding has got the shirt and we are happy for Frank to be in goal.”

5th March – Cardiff City 0 Ipswich Town 2, with Bywater starting.

7th March @colinbloomfield Frank Fielding can only play the next 3 games for Derby before his emergency loan comes to an end – full details at 1635.
